"Fantastic Yunnan — China and Southeast Asia Digital Art Forum" Successfully Held

From December 21 to 22, 2024, the "Fantastic Yunnan — China and Southeast Asia Digital Art Forum" was successfully held at Yunnan Arts University (YNAU). Professor Ouyang Junhu, President of YNAU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Experts in digital art education from China, the ROK, Thailand, and Malaysia gathered in Kunming to discuss the latest research results and trends in talent training development in the field of digital media art.

President Ouyang Junhu introduced YNAU's historical development, educational characteristics, and significant achievements throughout its journey of reform and growth. He emphasized that YNAU is actively addressing the growing social demand for digital art talent driven by digital technology. Building on the success of the first forum last year, this year's event aims to further enhance the platform by bringing together insights from all. It is hoped that experts will engage in open dialogue and collaborate to advance the development of digital art education.

Professor Cai Xinyuan, Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, awarded YNAU the title of "Director Unit of China's Artificial Intelligence Art Education Collaborative Innovation Platform-Yunnan Provincial Branch Center".

The forum was primarily divided into three sections: the Digital Art Education Lecture, ChinaVis Design Forum, and Information Visual Design Lecture. Experts and scholars shared cutting-edge knowledge and innovative ideas in the field of digital art, offering valuable enrichment to Yunnan's digital media art academic community. This exchange also fostered vitality in cultural interactions and educational development between China and Southeast Asia.

Professor Huang Xinyuan, Secretary of the CPC Committee at the School of Animation and Digital Arts, Communication University of China, delivers a presentation titled "Exploring the Technology-Driven Model for Cultivating Innovative Talent in Digital Art".

Professor Cai Xinyuan, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, delivers a presentation titled "AI-driven Art Education Innovation".

Professor Wang Yifei, Dean of the School of Media and Animation, Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, delivers a presentation titled "Comic and Animation Thinking from a New Media Perspective".

Professor Mohd Johari, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Architecture, UPM, delivers a presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence is Changing Landscape Resource Planning: The Malaysian Experience".

Professor Bunchoo Bunlikhitsiri, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Burapha University in Thailand, delivers a presentation titled "Digital Art: Enhancing Your Life".

Professor Tie Zhong, Vice Dean of the College of Creative Studies, Shanghai Theatre Academy, delivers a presentation titled "Innovation in Future Image Design in the Era of Artificial Intelligence".

Professor Ye Youtian from the School of Film and Television Animation, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, delivers a presentation titled "What Makes Animation Chinese? How Is intelligence Possible?"

Professor Li Qiansheng, Director of the Digital Art Department of the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai University, delivers a presentation titled "Digital Humanistic Expression from a Technical Perspective".

Associate Professor Long Juanjuan from the School of Digital Technology & Innovation Design, Jiangnan University, delivers a presentation titled "The Art of Data—Transforming Information into Visual Stories".

Associate Professor Lyu Yanru from the Department of Digital Media Art, School of Design and Art, Beijing Technology and Business University, delivers a presentation titled "Mental Productivity in Art Visualization".

Internationally renowned information graphic designer Zhang Shenghuan delivers a presentation titled "Creating Intuitive Understanding".

Visualization Roundtable

Leveraging its own academic resources and geographical advantages, YNAU actively serves as a bridge and link to foster deep collaboration between China and Southeast Asian countries in the field of digital art. By paving new pathways and injecting fresh vitality into the innovative development of cultural industries on both sides, YNAU aims to create a supportive ecosystem for the long-term development of digital art education and creation.
