On the morning of March 13, 2023, the 8th Biennale of the Fine Arts School of Yunnan Arts University, themed "Empathy and My Perception," was inaugurated at the Yunnan Arts University Library.

The Biennale of the Fine Arts School continued its tradition of integrating art creation, teaching, and research. It examined the current state of artistic creation in the school, evaluated the effectiveness of various aspects of teaching, and explored issues such as artistic creation, major construction and discipline construction. The exhibition also aimed to incorporate real-life concerns of artistic creation into academic discussions, thus strengthening the interconnectivity and interplay between teaching, research, creation, and social realities. This approach further enhances the practical value and significance of art creation in the school. The exhibition was held from March 13 to March 22, 2023.

On the same day, "Empathy and My Perception"—A Symposium on The 8th Biennale of the Fine Arts School of Yunnan Arts University was also held. The symposium mainly focused on two topics: "contemporaneity and realistic concerns in artistic creation" and "the interaction and interplay between the creation, teaching, and discipline construction in the school".

At the symposium, the participants actively delved into relevant issues in academic discussions, leading to a deeper understanding and contemplation of topics such as artistic creation, teaching, and discipline construction. This injected new energy into the future development of YNAU.
