On the morning of November 18, 2024, a cultural and artistic exchange delegation of young students from Ming Chuan University (MCU ) in Taiwan visited Yunnan Arts University (YNAU). Led by Professor Feng Chen-Chih at MCU, the delegation comprised nearly 30 student representatives from the Department of Commercial Design of MCU. Lin Fei, Director of the Political Parties Hong Kong and Macao Department of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, Hou Yunfeng, Director of YNAU's Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office, and Yang Linghui, Vice Dean of the Design School, accompanied them throughout the entire process.

MCU, founded in 1957, is a renowned private comprehensive university in Taiwan. It is recognized for its strong academic strength in business and communication-related majors. Additionally, it is one of the earliest higher education institutions in Taiwan, China, to engage in cross-strait academic exchanges. The Department of Commercial Design of MCU was established in 1966 and is the first department in Taiwan to offer a major in graphic design. Its establishment laid the foundation for the naming and curriculum structure of design departments across Taiwan.

MCU's teachers and students visited the Ethnic Costume Exhibition and the 9th Biennale of the Fine Arts School at YNAU's library. They also explored professional teaching facilities, such as the CNC Metalwork Laboratory, Digital Forming Laboratory, Dyeing and Weaving Laboratory, Architectural Model Laboratory, Jewelry Inlay Laboratory, Woodcarving Laboratory, and Huawei GOPAINT Laboratory within the Design School. Additionally, they observed classes and engaged in discussions with foreign experts who delivered lectures. Afterward, the two sides exchanged views in Conference Room 202 of the Design School. Two outstanding student representatives from the Design School presented their design creations to the teachers and students from Taiwan. The visiting teachers and students were deeply impressed by the distinct characteristics and effectiveness of YNAU. They highly commended the Design School's educational standards and the quality of its talent cultivation.

YNAU will seize this opportunity to deepen educational cooperation with MCU, promote interactive exchanges between young students from both sides, and work together to advance the integrated development of cross-strait art education.
