Guided by China Film Art Direction Academy (CFADA) and co-organized by YNAU and Yunnan Provincial Museum, the Fantastic Yunnan — China and Southeast Asia Digital Art Summit Forum was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of Yunnan Provincial Museum from October 10 to 11, 2023.
Approximately 90 individuals were invited to attend this Forum, including experts from universities specializing in digital art research in Southeast Asia and China, principal members of the Ministry of Education's Steering Committee on the Teaching of Animation and Digital Arts in Higher Educational Institutions, senior artists in the industry, and professionals of relevant fields. With the themes of "Digital Art in Southeast Asia, Digital Art in Yunnan Regional Culture, and AI Digital Art", this Forum aimed to explore cutting-edge information and academic concepts in the field of digital media art. During this Forum, several internationally renowned digital artists displayed their latest works and shared their creative insights. This Forum further enhances exchanges in digital art with Southeast Asia.
Jiang Feng, Vice President of YNAU, Liu Xu, Director of Yunnan Provincial Museum, and Wan Fan, Dean of the Design School of Yunnan Arts University delivered speeches respectively at the Opening Ceremony. Later, Jiang Feng, Vice President of YNAU, presented the certificate of guest professor of Yunnan Arts University respectively to persons including Korakot Jairak, Ph.D. in Art and Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, Atitthep Chaetnalao, Ph.D. in Art and Design from the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, Dr. Thanatorn Jiarakun from the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Faculty of Arts, Silpakorn University, Zeen Chin, a renowned digital illustrator from Malaysia, Kritsada Sangseubchart, Associate Professor in Visual Communication Major from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Burapha University, Si Juan, a prominent art curator from Malaysia, and Yuan Zheng, the founder of ArtPage, a global computer graphics art promotion organization.
This Forum is mainly divided into the Academic Perspective, Southeast Asian Forum, Creation Forum, Business Forum, and Yunnan Digital Art Forum. Present experts and scholars shared their research and creative results based on the themes of these forums and also discussed the current status and issues of digital art development both domestically and internationally.
This Forum reflects numerous possibilities and great potential for collaboration and mutual learning between China and Southeast Asian countries in the field of digital art. By strengthening the creation and academic exchange of digital art between Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries, this Forum promotes the development of the digital art industry in Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries, enhances international influence in the field of digital art of Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries, and brings greater development opportunities to cultural industries of both sides. This Forum also serves as an important initiative for the Design School of YNAU to promote the construction of the Digital Art Major into a national first-class undergraduate major.

Furthermore, YNAU will enhance its capacity for social services, vigorously promote digital development in the field of arts, strive to create a confident and prosperous digital culture, and steadily expand its international influence and radiance towards South Asia and Southeast Asia.
